Calcutta: Trainer James McKeown’s powerful galloper, Adjudicate, is expected to run as a firm favourite in Sunday’s prized event,  the 2,400m Calcutta Derby Stakes.  The fashionably bred filly, by Multidimensional out of Alvarita, has climbed to the position of authority after thrashing the opposition in each of the local Guineas – the 1000 and the 2000. 
      Although doubts are being raised about Adjudicates stamina to last the Derby Trip, sources close to the filly’s stable, are, however, bubbling with confidence about her staying prowess. The record books also indicates that Adjudicate’s sire, Multidimensional’s, has 84 black type race winners, over distances between 2,400m and more to his credit.
      Adjudicate sports the famed Khaitans’ colours and will also have jockey David Allan in the driver’s seat. Allan has almost made a habit of winning Derbies, all over the country, albeit on trainer S. Padmanabhan’s horses. McKeown has been Padmanabhan’s deputy.
